Flutter exists to answer one question: do you pay to build your app twice? A Flutter developer writes the screens once and produces an iPhone app and an Android app from the same work, which for most Kuwait businesses cuts the build roughly in half. The rate here is 10 KWD per hour, and the first consultation hour is free.

When the one-codebase argument holds

It holds when your app is made of screens rather than effects. Booking and appointments, ordering and delivery tracking, loyalty and points, catalogues, member accounts, internal tools for staff. These are the apps Kuwaiti businesses actually ask for, and building them twice is money spent on nothing the customer can see.

It stops holding when the app leans on the phone itself: continuous background location for a fleet, heavy video or audio processing, tight integration with a device in a warehouse, or a design that has to match each platform exactly. In those cases native wins, and an Android developer or an iOS build is the honest recommendation.

There is also a third case that catches people. If what you need is a website that also works on a phone, an app is the wrong purchase. A fast bilingual site costs less and does not require anyone to install anything, and web development is the right door.

What a Flutter developer builds for a Kuwait business

  • Arabic and English in one app, switchable without reinstalling, with the layout mirrored properly rather than text dropped into a left-to-right design.
  • KNET and card payment inside the app, with the order status confirmed afterwards instead of assumed.
  • Booking flows that respect a Sunday to Thursday work week, Kuwait timings and branch-level opening hours.
  • Behaviour when the signal drops, which in Kuwait means basements, car parks and lifts. The app should keep the order, not lose it.
  • Notifications in the customer’s chosen language, opening the exact screen they refer to.
  • Staff-facing screens: a driver view, a branch view, a simple admin, often the part that saves the most labour.

The same practice builds delivery apps end to end if you want the whole thing rather than a developer inside your own team.

How the engagement works

Book the free hour with an engineer. Useful material: a sketch of the screens, the list of things customers phone you about, and whether you already have a website the app should share data with. You receive a written scope with an hours range, and nothing begins before you accept it.

The developer then works on your app on an hours basis, inside KuwaitDev’s product team, with a product engineer and a technical architect reviewing the work. Hours are logged and shown to you every week. Test builds are installable on your own phone early, so you judge the app instead of reading a progress report. Store accounts and the code stay in your company’s name.

What it costs

Cost is hours times 10 KWD. A first version of a booking app for both stores usually looks like this:

Work Hours Cost
Screen flow, Arabic wording, and what is left out of version one 5 50 KWD
Core screens, built once for both platforms 27 270 KWD
KNET and card checkout 13 130 KWD
Arabic right-to-left pass and testing on both platforms 8 80 KWD
Submission to both stores and launch fixes 7 70 KWD
Total 60 600 KWD

Smaller pieces of work are common too, and start around 200 KWD. Longer partnerships take 15%, 30% or 50% off the rate on the pricing page, and you can get a rough figure first from the cost calculator.

How to start

Bring the one thing customers currently do by phone or WhatsApp that you want the app to take over. One flow, done properly, published, and then extended is how these projects stay affordable. The free hour will tell you whether Flutter, native, or no app at all is the right answer for it.

What we deliver

  • One codebase that produces both the iPhone and the Android app
  • Arabic and English screens with a true right-to-left layout
  • KNET and card checkout inside the app
  • Sensible behaviour on a weak connection or none at all
  • Push notifications written in both languages
  • Test builds your team can install before anything goes public
  • Publishing to both stores under your own developer accounts

Frequently asked questions

Will customers be able to tell it is not a native app?

For the screens most businesses need, no. Lists, forms, bookings, catalogues, checkout and account pages behave the way people expect. The difference shows in heavy animation, complex camera or audio work, and features that appear on the day a new iOS or Android version ships, where a native app can use them first.

Does KNET work in a Flutter app?

Yes. The customer is sent to the bank confirmation page and returned to the app, usually through a gateway such as MyFatoorah or Tap. The work worth paying for is what happens around it, checking the real payment status afterwards so an order that was paid never sits in your dashboard as unpaid.

We already have a native iOS app. Can Flutter reuse it?

No. Moving to Flutter means rewriting the app, and that only pays for itself if you were about to build the second platform anyway, or if maintaining two separate apps has become the actual bottleneck. If your iOS app is fine and you simply need Android, hiring an Android developer is usually cheaper.

Do we need our own Apple and Google accounts?

Yes, and you should want them in your company's name. Apple's developer programme is a paid annual membership and Google Play charges a one-off registration. We publish through your accounts so the apps, the reviews and the download history belong to you permanently.

Can the same code give us the website too?

Technically yes, practically no. Flutter can produce a web build, but a public site that needs to rank in Google and load fast for a first-time visitor is better built as a normal website. We keep Flutter for the app and build the site separately.
